LENOIR — Elections for four seats on the Blue Ridge Electric Membership Corporation Board of Directions is open through June 19, according to BRE Director of Public Relations Renee Whitener.

Director election kits, which were sent to members on May 29, include a proxy and directions for voting by mail or online, as well as biographical information on candidates for the four open seats — one each in Caldwell, Watauga, Ashe and Alleghany districts, Whitener said.

“Blue Ridge members may vote for one candidate in each district, as all board members represent the entire membership,” Whitener said. “Director elections give members an easy way to participate in their cooperative.”

All votes must be received by 5 p.m., June 19, Whitener said.

Furthermore, the cooperative’s annual membership meeting will be held at 4 p.m. Thursday, June 27, in the cooperative’s corporate office at 1216 Blowing Rock Blvd in Lenoir. Business reports delivered at the annual meeting from key board and staff members will also be shared online on the cooperative’s website and social media, and results from the director election will be announced, according to Whitener.

Members also received annual meeting and director election information in their May issue of Carolina Country, which contains the member newsletter, Membership Matters and other local member information on the cover of the magazine.
