The federal Universal Service Fund (USF) is money collected from telecommunications companies dedicated to fulfilling the goals of universal service. The Universal Service Fund was created by the Federal
Communications Commission (FCC) and established by law in 1934 to provide access to a baseline level
of telecommunications services for all consumers in the United States. At RiverStreet Networks, the
base rate for local phone service is $22.80. Broadband services are included in the Universal Service
Fund with costs starting at $70 month. Internet rates and speeds may vary depending on availability.
RiverStreet Networks participates in the following government benefit programs: Lifeline Program and
Affordable Connectivity Program (ACP). Both programs are a government benefit program that offer
a discount for eligible low-income customers who have residential voice or broadband services.
Qualified lifeline customers, can receive a federal monthly support of $9.25 for broadband service or
$5.25 for phone only service. The ACP program is available for eligible households to receive up to a
$30 discount per month on internet service (up to $75 for qualified tribal lands).
