A crowd mingles at Blue Ridge Conservancy’s 19th annual Gamekeeper Auction Wednesday, June 5.

WEST JEFFERSON — Blue Ridge Conservancy’s 19th annual Gamekeeper Auction raised money to help the nonprofit continue its mission to protect natural resources of value in northwest North Carolina at the Barn on the New River in West Jefferson the evening of Wednesday, June 5.

The event, centered on auctions and a catered dinner from the Gamekeeper in Boone, featured area breweries Appalachian Mountain Brewery, Blowing Rock Brewing, Boondocks Brewing, Booneshine Brewing, Lost Province Brewing and Molley Chomper Hard Cidery.

Up for auction were items including local art, vacation packages, various gift certificates, outdoor recreation gear and a round of golf at the Hound Ears Club.

Through the auction, Blue Ridge Conservancy said it raised $40,000 for land conservation, clean air and water, local farmers, access to healthy foods and outdoor recreation, with record attendance and record auction participation.
