WEST JEFFERSON — The Ashe Civic Center will be playing host to the homecoming of bluegrass band Hillbilly Fever at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, March 1.
Despite spending a great deal of time in the midwest, most members of the band are from the High Country, with the exception of Californian violinist Bob Frankot. According to guitarist Mark Krider, the band always enjoys getting to play at home in front of friends, family and people in the area who might not know the band.
“We try to please everybody,” Krider said. “The bluegrass fans, the country fans and the swing fans, we want everyone who comes to enjoy one of our shows.”
Krider added that the band does this by playing in an upbeat style while also having fun while performing. He said it’s not a normal bluegrass show, but something more.
Krider said the next step for the band is to do more shows and lay down some tracks. The band has plans to record something in the summer at the earliest, while they’re already working on shows for the second half of 2019 and next year.
Tickets for the show are general admission and all seats are $18. Tickets may be purchased at the Ashe Arts Center and over the phone with a credit card at (336) 846-2787.
