Jazz Ensemble performs outside old courthouse

Director Paula Carlton directs the Ashe County High School Jazz Ensemble — Ian Blevins, Jordan Carlton, Devin Osborne, Erin Wilson, Miguel Gaspar, Ashton Hash, Grady Rector, James Mead, Emily Reed, Olivia Shepherd, Joey Vela, Nyanne Tucker — during a set on the steps of the Museum of Ashe County History Saturday, May 25. The ensemble played renditions of ‘Africa’ by Toto, ‘Fly me to the Moon,’ popularized by Frank Sinatra and Earth, Wind & Fire’s ‘Let’s Groove,’ among other tunes in front of a small crowd.
