TODD — The Lucky Strikes are returning to Cook Memorial Park to continue the 2019 Summer Concert Series in historic downtown Todd from 6-8 p.m. Saturday, June 29, according to the Todd Community Preservation Organization.
The Lucky Strikes are a classic jazz band based in the High Country, whose musical repertoire spans decades — from classic jazz standards made popular by artists such as Diana Krall and Tony Bennett, to timeless hits from the ‘50s, ‘60s and ‘70s, according to the band’s website.
The Todd Summer Concert series is free and family-friendly, the TCPO said on its website. Attendees are encouraged to bring a lawn chair or blanket to sit on, and enjoy the food and beverages for sale.
“Large tents will be set up to protect concert goers from sun or rain,” the TCPO said. “We hope to see you this summer.”
A number of local corporate sponsors contributed to make the concert series free to attend, and Cook Memorial Park improvement progress is underway thanks to a grant awarded by the Blue Ridge National Heritage Area, according to the TCPO.
The remaining 2019 Todd Summer Concert Series lineup can be found listed alongside this story.
