The following information was provided by the Ashe County Sheriff’s Office. All suspects are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

June 14

Hunter S. Greene, 19, of Fleetwood, was charged with a probation violation. Greene is being held at the Ashe County Detention Center under a $1,500 secured bond.

Garnett G. Lewis, 53, of Creston, was charged with possession of methamphetamine. Lewis was released June 14 under a $2,500 secured bond.

Thomas L. Severt, 38, of Laurel Springs, was charged with two probation violations, possession of methamphetamine, four counts of driving while license revoked, felony possession of a schedule II controlled substance, possession of marijuana up to one-half ounces, possession of drug paraphernalia, expired registration card or tag, expired inspection sticker, failure to wear a seat belt by a driver, unsafe tires, canceled/revoked/suspended certificate or tag, operating a vehicle with no insurance, driving/allowing a motor vehicle with no registration, driving left of center, giving/lending/borrowing license plate and operating a vehicle with no insurance. Severt is being held at the Ashe County Detention Center under two $7,500 secured bonds, a $500 secured bond and a $25,000 secured bond.

Marissa C. Sheets, 22, of Laurel Springs, was charged with driving while impaired. Sheets was released June 14.

June 15

Melanie B. Chapman, 57, of Lansing, was charged with misdemeanor larceny. Chapman was released June 15 under a $500 unsecured bond.

Edison R. Holman, 40, of Jefferson, was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia. Holman was released June 17 under a $750 secured bond.

Chandler N. Thurman, 26, of Purlear, was charged with assault on a female and injury to personal property. Thurman is being held at the Ashe County Detention Center under no bond.

June 17

Lonnie B. Pierce, 50, of Whitetop, Va., was charged with assault on a female. Pierce was released June 17 under a $1,000 secured bond.

June 18

Destiny N. Freeman, 34, of Fleetwood, was charged with a probation violation. Freeman is being held at the Ashe County Detention Center under a $10,000 secured bond.

Stephanie B. Hart, 33, of Millers Creek, was charged with resisting a public officer, simple possession of a schedule IV controlled substance, first degree trespass, misdemeanor larceny, shoplifting by concealment of goods and possession of a stolen automobile. Hart is being held at the Ashe County Detention Center under a $3,500 secured bond and a $10,000 secured bond.

Dustin L. Osborne, 34, of Wilkesboro, was charged with possession of a stolen automobile and first degree trespass. Osborne is being held at the Ashe County Detention Center under a $500 secured bond and a $10,000 secured bond.

June 19

Derrick L. Barker, 21, of Lansing, was charged with driving while impaired, driving while license revoked, hit and run and failure to maintain lane control. Barker is being held at the Ashe County Detention Center under a $800 secured bond.

James F. Lewis, 43, of West Jefferson, was charged with driving while license revoked and possession/displaying an altered or fictional revoked driver’s license. Lewis was released June 19 under a $1,500 secured bond.

June 20

Bessie L. Bell, 33, of West Jefferson, was charged with possession of methamphetamine and felony harboring a fugitive. Bell was released June 20 under a $5,000 secured bond.

June 21

Michael J. Greene, 31, of Jefferson, was charged with possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia, simple possession of a schedule VI controlled substance, possession of marijuana paraphernalia and simple possession of a schedule IV controlled substance. Greene is being held at the Ashe County Detention Center under a $5,000 secured bond.
