One injured in 221 wreck

WEST JEFFERSON — A man was injured the afternoon of Tuesday, Jan. 29 after losing control of his truck and colliding with a tree near Mike Neaves Trucking on U.S. 221. Jefferson Volunteer Fire Department and EMS workers responded to the call of a driver being trapped in his vehicle. North Carolina State Trooper W. P. Miller said it is unknown what exactly happened due to the driver’s injuries after the crash. The driver was rushed from the scene via ambulance to Ashe Memorial Hospital.
