The following wreck reports have been released by the North Carolina Department of Public Safety in Ashe County.

June 15

A single-vehicle accident: occurred at 5:54 p.m. on W Deep Fork Road near Lansing. According to the wreck report, a 2010 Subaru, driven by Pamela S. Little, traveled west on W Deep Fork Road. The Subaru struck a deer that traveled onto the roadway. The estimated cost of damage to the Subaru was $3,400, and the vehicle was not considered drivable.

June 16

A single-vehicle accident: occurred at 9:28 a.m. on Idlewild Road near West Jefferson. According to the wreck report, a 2004 Jeep, driven by John G. Bard, traveled west on Idlewild Road. The Jeep lost control and departed the roadway to the right, striking a tree, then overturned. The estimated cost of damage to the Jeep was $5,800, and the vehicle was not considered drivable. Bard was issued a citation for traveling left of center.

A two-vehicle accident: occurred at 2:22 p.m. on Mount Jefferson Road near West Jefferson. According to the wreck report, a 2012 Nissan, driven by Karey E. Duvall, was stopped facing west on Mount Jefferson Road. A 2012 Chevrolet, driven by Charles A. Rogers, traveled west on Mount Jefferson Road and failed to reduce speed, striking the Nissan. The estimated cost of damage to the Nissan was $2,000. The estimated cost of damage to the Chevrolet was $500. Both vehicles were considered drivable. Rogers was issued a citation for failure to reduce speed.

A two-vehicle accident: occurred at 5:04 p.m. on NC 194 near Lansing. According to the wreck report, a 2003 Chevrolet, driven by Kimberly G. Blevins, traveled north on NC 194. A 2017 Nissan, driven by Anthony L. Harless, traveled south on NC 194. The Nissan made a left turn in front of the Chevrolet, and the Chevrolet collided with the Nissan. The estimated cost of damage to the Chevrolet was $4,000. The estimated cost of damage to the Nissan was $6,000. Both vehicles were not considered drivable. Harless was issued a citation for failure to yield.

June 17

A single-vehicle accident: occurred at 8:30 a.m. on NC 88 near West Jefferson. According to the wreck report, a 1996 Dodge, driven by Lisa M. Cook, traveled east on NC 88. The Dodge lost control and departed the roadway to the right, striking an embankment. The estimated cost of damage to the Dodge was $6,000, and the vehicle was not considered drivable. Cook was issued a citation for exceeding safe speed and driving without a license.

June 18

A single-vehicle accident: occurred at 6:27 p.m. on US 221 near West Jefferson. According to the wreck report, a 2001 Suzuki, driven by Brianna K. Moretz, traveled north on US 221. The vehicle lost control and traveled left of center, departed the roadway to the left and overturned. The estimated cost of damage to the vehicle was $2,500, and the vehicle was not considered drivable. Moretz was issued a citation for failure to maintain lane control.

June 19

A single-vehicle accident: occurred at 5:59 p.m. on NC 88 near Jefferson. According to the wreck report, a 2005 Chevrolet, driven by Hunter B. Peyton, traveled east on NC 88. The vehicle ran off the right shoulder of the road, overcorrected and crossed the centerline, then departed the roadway to the left, striking an embankment. The estimated cost of damage to the Chevrolet was $7,500, and the vehicle was not considered drivable.

A single-vehicle accident: occurred at 10:14 p.m. on Old Hwy 16 near Jefferson. According to the wreck report, a 2006 Volkswagen, driven by Derrick L. Barker, traveled south on Old Hwy 16. The Volkswagen departed the roadway to the right at the intersection with N Fork New River Road and collided with a fence. The estimated cost of damage to the Volkswagen was $2,500, and the vehicle was not considered drivable. Barker was issued a citation for driving while impaired, driving without a license and hit and run.

June 20

A single-vehicle accident: occurred at 1:38 p.m. on Staggs Creek Road near West Jefferson. According to the wreck report, a 1992 Ford, driven by Edison Gilley, traveled south on Staggs Creek Road when a tree fell across the road. The Ford attempted to dodge the tree, struck the tree and departed the roadway, sliding down an embankment. The estimated cost of damage to the Ford was $2,500, and the vehicle was not considered drivable.

A single-vehicle accident: occurred at 2:31 p.m. on Buffalo Road near West Jefferson. According to the wreck report, a 1984 Harley-Davidson, driven by Donald T. Comer, traveled south on Old Buffalo Road. The vehicle approached a curve, departed the roadway to the right and struck a guardrail. The estimated cost of damage to the Harley-Davidson was $1,500, and the vehicle was not considered drivable. Comer was issued a citation for failure to report an accident and failure to maintain lane control.
