Mrs. Kathleen Woodie Hege, 93, passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 6, 2019 at White Oak Manor, Rock Hill, S.C.
Known to all as “Kathern”, she was born March 17, 1925 in West Jefferson, NC the daughter of E.O. and Ella Black Woodie. She was the widow of Norman Keeling Hege, Jr., owner/founder of Norman Hege Jewelers.
In addition to her parents and husband, Kathern was preceded in death by her sister, Marie McMillan of Winston Salem, NC and her brother, William “Bill” Woodie of West Jefferson, NC.
She was a resident of Rock Hill since 1951. Kathern was a devout Christian and a very active member of Oakland Baptist Church.
Surviving are her children, Steve and his wife, Linda of Pickens, SC, Linda and her husband, John Gordon and Mike and his wife, Pam, all of Rock Hill; seven grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and her sister, Jackie Furr of Concord, NC.
The family received friends from 6:30 p.m.-8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 8, 2019 at Greene Funeral Home Northwest Chapel, 2133 Ebenezer Road, Rock Hill, SC.
A graveside service was held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, January 9, 2019 at Grandview Memorial Park on Cherry Road.
