The Reverend Willis Donald Rash, 86, of Creston, N.C., passed away on Sunday, July 7, 2019, at Caldwell Hospice and Palliative Care.
Rev. Rash was born on June 20, 1933, in Lancaster, PA to Roby Eugene and Bonnie Elizabeth Latham Rash. He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister; and four brothers.
Rev. Rash was a member of Ben Bolen Baptist Church. He was an ordained Baptist minister and a former pastor of the church and was known as a hard worker.
Rev. Rash is survived by his wife, Goldia Snyder Rash; one son, Frankie Rash and wife, Kathy, of West Jefferson, the Buffalo community; one daughter, Debbie Potter and husband, John, of Mountain City, TN; five grandchildren, Shannon Marie Goins, Stephen Mitchel Gentry, Jessica Lynn Phillips, Keisha Leanna Gawlik, and Amanda Leigh Carpenter; five great-grandchildren, Lucas Ryan Phillips, Macie Woodie, Gracie Goins, Haley Carpenter, and Skylar Carpenter; also surviving are several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Thursday, July 11, 2019 at 2:00 p.m., at Ashelawn Memorial Chapel by the Rev. Lloyd Day and the Rev. Elijah London. Burial followed the in Ashelawn Memorial Gardens.
The family received friends from 6:00 p.m.,to 8:00 p.m., on Wednesday, July 10, 2019 at Ashelawn Memorial Chapel.
