I attended the ACHS Varsity Basketball game this past Dec. 21 and I must say I was shocked by the lack of respect that parents of the varsity boys basketball team were portraying during the game.
Respect and discipline should begin at home; however, we wonder why our youth act the way that they do and as the saying goes, "The apple doesn't fall far from the tree."
These particular fans and parents were yelling disrespectful remarks directly toward the coach with not only their sons watching, but also with the coach's wife and newborn baby in the crowd.
I think about the time this coach is volunteering coaching these young men while missing time at home with his wife and newborn baby. It is well known that there are assistant coaches in the surrounding area(s) who are paid more than our Varsity coaches are.
As Robert Fulghum once said "Don't worry that your children never listen to you; worry that they are always watching you."
