MILLERS CREEK — The Ashe County Huskies notched another win to their belt for the 2019 boys tennis season, dominating West Wilkes on the road in a 9-0 match victory.
“Gabe Powers and Michael York came from behind in the first set to win that set and go on to win the second set more easily,” Ashe County head coach Larry Dix said. “The other matches were easier wins.”
Other singles winners for the Huskies included Devin Rupard, Jake Reavis, Tatum Brown and Adrian Arado.
Ashe County downed the Blackhawks in doubles matches as well, with no match finishing closer than 8-4.
“This was a good conference road win for us, but I felt it was not our best tennis,” Dix said. “We have some work to do going into the second half of the season.”
