The following information was provided by the Ashe County Sheriff’s Office. All suspects are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Jan. 25

Anthony S. Anderson, 37, of Jefferson, was charged with two counts of breaking and/or entering, nine counts of misdemeanor larceny, habitual larceny, six counts of breaking and or entering a motor vehicle, injury to personal property, six counts of possession of stolen goods, attempted larceny, three counts of driving while license revoked, three counts of first degree trespass, possession of burglary tools, simple assault, unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, felony larceny, larceny by removing/destroying/deactivating component and giving, lending or borrowing license plate. Anderson is being held at the Ashe County Detention Center under a $25,000 secured bond and a $100,000 secured bond.

Joseph C. Bishop, 28, of West Jefferson, was charged with two counts of driving while license revoked. Bishop was released Jan. 26 under a $450 secured bond and a $1,000 secured bond.

Joshua A. Witherspoon, 32, of Laurel Springs, was charged with simple possession of a schedule IV controlled substance and possession of marijuana paraphernalia. Witherspoon was released Jan. 25 under a $500 unsecured bond.

Jan. 27

Jamie M. Bower, 31, of Jefferson, was charged with driving while impaired. Bower was released Jan. 27 under a $500 secured bond.

Larry T. Latham, 38, of Creston, was charged with IV-D non-support child. Latham was released Jan. 27 under a $1,295.41 cash bond.

Jan. 28

Jason B. Burgess, 37, of West Jefferson, was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia, a probation violation and IV-D non-support child. Burgess is being held at the Ashe County Detention Center under a $120 cash bond and a $435 secured bond.

Kimberly M. Coe, 38, of Grassy Creek, was charged with two probation violations. Coe is being held at the Ashe County Detention Center under a $10,000 cash bond.

Crystal D. Day, 34, of Purlear, was charged with a school attendance law violaion. Day was released Jan. 28 under a $370 cash bond.

Jacob S. Moretz, 21, of West Jefferson, was charged with two counts of obtaining property under false pretenses. Moretz was released Jan. 29 under a $500 unsecured bond.

Joe K. Neaves, 57, of Crumpler, was charged with second degree trespass and intoxicated and disruptive behavior. Neaves was released Jan. 28 under a $1,500 secured bond.

Jan. 29

Steven B. Eller, 29, of Warrensville, was charged with communicating threats. Eller was released Jan. 30 under a $2,500 secured bond.

Mason M. Hamilton, 22, of North Wilkesboro, was charged with two counts of obtaining property under false pretenses and misdemeanor larceny. Hamilton was released Jan. 31 under a $10,000 unsecured bond.

Coral R. Parker, 25, of Bakerville, was charged with fictitious/altered title/registration card or tag, driving or allowing a motor vehicle with no registration, driving while license revoked and a probation violation. Parker is being held at the Ashe County Detention Center under a $2,000 secured bond and a $20,000 secured bond.

Thomas L. Severt, 37, of Laurel Springs, was charged with two probation violations. Severt is being held at the Ashe County Detention Center under two $10,000 cash bonds.

Jan. 30

Sandra D. Kohlbus, 54, of West Jefferson, was charged with resisting a public officer. Kohlbus was released Jan. 30 under a $500 unsecured bond.

William J. McCoy, 51, of West Jefferson, was charged with misdemeanor larceny and violating a domestic violence protection order. McCoy was released Jan. 31 under a $500 secured bond and a $5,000 secured bond.

Joseph L. Teachout, 38, of West Jefferson, was charged with flee/eluding arrest with a motor vehicle and reckless driving. Teachout was released Jan. 31 under a $500 secured bond.
